We are a non-government organization, raising funds
through our own means with community support.

Teaching deaf children to speak |
| Our aim
is to give deaf children the opportunity to go to
mainstream schools for normal hearing children. |

It is a national multi-racial establishment. |

It is an early intervention and a foundation phase
school |

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE CAREL DU TOIT CENTRE? |

The hearing ability of children is established. |

If hearing loss is detected, hearing aids are
fitted. |

The parents receive training on how to communicate
with their deaf child. |

An auditory-oral approach is followed
-“listen-talk” programme. |
